For the 'S' i have now managed to finish this. I managed to get the black lines in by using the brush tool as i made it as small as possible but rather than doing all the lines, i just went over the parts that looked blue or that stood out when zoomed out.
I have now started to think about my font that would fit into my genre. I am thinking of 'Most Wasted' from dafont.com as this looks quite effective and is still easy to read. I have used this font for the title of the Artist and title of the album. For the 'S'i created i have used it in the title of the album 'So Far So Good'.
However i have used a different font for the title of the songs called 'King Cool'. This again is effective as it fits it with my genre and is also easy to read without being too big that it takes up a lot of space but without being to small so that it is not clear to read.

Inside of DVD Cover so far...
My objetive for today was to find a way that i could shade in the 'S' and to make the lines a lot clearer.
To start with i found a way to make the lines a lot clearer. I did this by connecting each line and then creating a path with all of the lines, after i copied and pasted it onto the background i had created previsously. Once i had done this i then decided to colour it in. As i had taken a photo of the 'S' it meant that the way the light reflected onto the paper made different parts of it different colours. As i was colouring it in i zoomed in as far as i could to make sure that it was all coloured in fully, so that once zoomed out it looked even. Once i had zoomed out this was when i realised that different shades had been created and it looked quite effective. However some of the black lines had been slightly coloured in blue when i had tried to get as close as possible to the edges. I therefore needed to go over these lines with the 'brush' tool in order for it to stand out effectively. Once i had done this i had again realised that i had missed some litle bits out of the blue which needed to be filled in. I went back over these but when i zoomed out i realised that it had become a lighter shade of blue, almost a white where over the different parts of the 'S' were different shade of blue. I tried to correct this by going back over my history and delteing whati had done but this didn't seem to make a difference. So i tried to colour it in by clicking on the 'eyedropper' tool to get the same blue back again but this didn't work either. I have not yet solved this problem as i unfortuantely ran out of time but this will be my next objective.

Inside of DVD Cover so far...
For my DVD cover as i wanted an 'S' on the inside i needed to think of a way i could have the same 'S', but so that i could either create it on Phototshop or so that i could take a picture. I decided that i would take a picture and thencut it from the background, in order for it to be of equal size and so that i could use for other wording on my cover.
Once i had cut it out from the background, i then needed to colour it in. My original idea was to have a shade that grew darker as it got closer to the end of the 'S'. However to start with i just coloured it in in one colour as i still needed to outline the 'S' so that it would stand against the background i had chosen. So i used the 'line' tool in order to outline the 'S' in black. Once i had finsihed doing this it looked quite good as the black was quite dark and had a glossy look to it. When it cae to filling it with colour by using the 'Paint bucket' tool it coloured in all of the 'S' but with no shading as obviously it only had one shade of colour.
My next objective will be to find a way to shade the colourand to possibly find a way to get the outline to look a lot neater.

Magazine Advert

This is my magazine advert, advetising 'Schoolboy's' album 'So Far So Good'. Again i used my idea that i used for the inside cover as it meant that i still kept to the idea used for the front cover so that i could include other information about the album such as the ratings that magazines had given the album, wher it canbe downloaded from etc. I used the idea of the 'S' again as i thought that it was big and would stand out again so that the targeted audience would recognise it as 'SchoolBoy'.
Inside of DVD Cover

As the inside of my DVD cover is going to be clear i have decided to put an inside cover into it. To start with i wasn't sure what icould put on the inside cover so i looked at DVD covers such as 'Momento' to help, however as this is a DVD Film it meant that they had put the scene chapters in the inside which still kept me thinking of what i could put on the left hand side. In the end i decided to keep my idea which was on the front but change it slightly so that rather than having the whole person you would see half of the front and half of the back, which can be seen from the photo. By using this idea i thought it was effective as it is always reminding the target audience of the artist. By putting the titles of the song between the two pictures of the artist breaks up the inside as there is something differnet to look at. On the right hand as seen from the photo the is a big S. I decided on this again it reminded the tsrget audience of the artist but also fitted in with the title of the album 'So Far So Good'. Even though it is quite simple , i think it is effective as there is not a lot to look at it and is is also not confusing.
DVD Front & back Cover

This is the front and back cover for my DVD. I have chosen to do it this way as it gets my genre across of Hip Hop and it reaches my target audience of 15+ teenagers. I have decided to use a purple background as it enhances the colour of the blue writing and helps the black to stand out around the writing of the title and the artist as well. I also included the colours by giving the person a blue tie to show a school uniform or smart looking. Also having the person standing with their hand on their hip shows attitude which also fits in with my chosen genre and gives them status. As i have the artist on the back of the cover as well it is again fitting in with my chosen genre of Hip Hop and again also showing attiude towards the targeted audience. I have kept to my colour scheme of tow different shades of blue and purple which not only helpes the writing to stand out but also the artist and it draws attention to the back of them.
DVD Cover
For the past couple of lessons we have been looking at how we could design our DVD cover and magazine article for our music video. We have looked at how other artist have designed their's and what the connotations are and how it fits in with their genre and target audience. We looked at Jay-Z's cover for his new album 'The Blueprint 3' which has 3 red lines over a instruments that are completely white. This could show purity. He keeps to the theme by using the 3 red stripes throughout his cover and magazaine advert.
By looking at other artists covers and adverts it has helped me to create mine effetively as i feel that i have reached my targeted audience and my genre is still seen through this.

Editing...
Before we starting again we thoroughly watched what we had already done just to make usre that everything was in the right place and worked well before we carried on. OPnce we had started to edit again all that we left was to add in the last couple of bits of Mitchell adn Lewis singing and the last bit of the storyline where the boy adn girl finally meet. We didn;t realise just how much we had included of Lewis and Mitchell, but rather than cutting it we used a lot more fast paced and quick cuts betweeen clips just to see how this would work. It turned out that we did need to cut some of the singing and to crop things together to make it fit, but it does look effective and now looks a lot more like a music video rather than our first attempt. Editing is now finished.

Editing...
Before we re-filmed everything we really planned what we wnated our video to be about and the type of shots of angles. As we had done this it meant that our storyboards were completed fully meaning that when it came to film, everything could be filmed in order which was partly why we found it difficult in the first place.
As i had filmed everything in order it meant that editing became a lot easier as we knew where all of the relevant clips were. I had a filmed every shot at least twice from different angles just so that it gave us more to work with when editing, rather than spending even more time filming and less time editing. Editing hasn't taken us as long as did last time due to the fact that we planned well and all had similar ideas. Also as Lewis and Mitchell had learnt the words to the song it meant that the singing and lip syncing were better making it easier for us as well.

Editing...
We managed to film Miichell and this footage has now been imported. As Mitchell really pronounced his words when miming to the song, this has really helped us when it has come to the lip syncing. We have now started to add in Mitchell into the different of the song when we felt that it was necessary.
As we have now filmed Mitchell it means that we can carry on with the rest of the editing of the music video. We now only have the last section to do, which then means it can be played and it will hopefully just need tweeky for example; a slight bit of lip syncing out of time or shot that needs to be sped up a little bit.

Editing...
It has been to edit recently as we haven't been able to film Mitchell as it has been too wet. From what other people have seen of the video they said that continuity would be better if we had two singers one doing the rapping and the other doing the chrous. As a group we thought about this and how well it would work. As a result we decided that we would film it and fit it in and if it doesn't work then it can always be changed. We hopefully be bale to film Mitchell over the next couple of days.

Editing...
I have looked over what has been edited so far and we have about half of the song done. I looked back over the footage that was filmed to see what else we could use. We decided that we would start with the second part of the story, where the couple in the video are at the second location missing each other which is the park. What i liked about this was that we managed to use a lot of different shot ypes for example: an extreme close up of the watch to show the time and how long the girl had been waiting, and also a long shot when she is walking out and then when the boyfriend comes running in before he realises that hs ehas already left.

Editing...
The others in my group have been doing some editing and have managed to edit in and lip sync the singer. They have also managed to fill in part of the story up to where they have finished lip syncing due to the fact that when you lip sync and add other footage in around it the lip syncing gets moved, therefore making it harder as when you watch footage back you always have to rpelace the lip syncing to make sure that everything is right and still fits.

Editing...
So far for eediting, i have imported all the footage that i filmed. I filmed all of what was needed for the music video. Once i had imported all of the footage, i then started to edit. I managed to find the section of a clip that i wanted for example: for cutting the clip where the alarm clock goes off, i made sur the markers were in the right place by pressing I and then where i wnated the clip to end i pressed O. Once i had done this i then dragged the clip onto the timeline, to where i wanted the clip to play in time with the music.

Editing....
We have tried to edit rhythmically to the music as this is a convention of music videos and is also Bordwin's and Thompson's theory. This is coming along really well as we have also lip synced Lewis and Mitchell singing to the original song. As the genre of the song is Grime/Hip Hop, i have looked at other videos of this type and noticed that the artist is seen singing either within the linear narrative or outside of this. As Lewis pronounced his words clearly when miming to the song, this helped when editing as it meant that i could clearly see what part of the song my footage needed to be synced to and how well this would fit in with the story of the video.

Change of plan for filming....
The filming has now changed as it has been hard to find a time where Charlotte and Lee can be filmed at the same time. I thought of filming two other people instead so that all the footage can be done which just leaves the editing. I have kept to the storyboards and what we had agreed when we decided to change our idea.
Filming....
Lee and Charlotte have now been filmed at a train station with lee mssing charlotte as he is late. We have shown this by Charlotte walking in and buying a ticket and then zooming in on the station clock. The next shot is then of Charlotte walking out as she has given up which is then with a shot of her watcxh showing how long she has waited. Lee then comes running in showing he knows he is late but then the camera pans round to show that no one is waiting for him. By using this it has been filmed so that Charlottes feet and legs can just been seen so that other effects can be added such as: you could show Charlotte walking out and Lee walking as these two clips can be cropped together.

Editing...
The last couple of time we have gone to edit we have found this difficult as our video has been jumping which makes it hard to use rhythmic editing as it all freezes, this is also hard as the song doesn't always play, which makes it hard to fit the editing to the music. However even though we could not necessarily edit in new stuff but we went back over what we already had and made sure that what we had fitted really well and that there was also not a lot of repitition. I felt that by doing this it gave us time to reflect on what we had already done and also made us realise that we definately needed to do some more filming and re-shooting.
Filming....
I have been out and filmed all the footage for the music video. I filmed at 3 different locations for example: I needed to different houses to show the two different characters getting ready and leaving their homes. Next i filmed at a train station as i needed to show the characters missing each other and then at a park to show them missing each other again. I used many different shot types for this such as a lot of close up and mid shot. Some of them were long as you needed to see each character entering the location to help with continuity. For the ending when the characters finally meet each other i thought that as the man had been the one that was late it would be good to have him showing up and the girls front door even though this is a bit cheesy i thought that it could work quite well when editing as you could add different effects to make it more interesting so that the audience could relate to it.
Whilst filming as well i used lots of different angles as this would give us more when editing as well rather than just seeing the character faces all the times. When the characters are coming down the stairs at the train station i used a low angle and this then changes to a high angle when the get to the bottom which could be played around with when editing.
Once i had done this i took this back into school to show the rest of my group and they were pleased as everything had been done and as i had filmed it from many different angles and shot types it meant that there was more to work with when editing.

Editing...
We have also imported the new footage of Lewis singing the whole of the 'Hold On' song. By having this it now means we can sync it to the actual song. However we foudn this slightly difficualt and we didn;t get very far as the computers kept freezing once we had uploaded. But what we ha dodne looked really effective and fitted in with the song as well which was good. We now need to carry on with this next lesson in order to make it fit perfectly and also so that we can edit other parts of the video around it.
Editing...
Lee has done most of the editing as he knows what he is doing whilst i have been watching and developing his ideas as well as giving my own opinions on what should be changed or what could have been in place of some of the other things. I have learnt a lot about Final Cut just by wtaching Lee and feel that next lesson i should be able to help him edit, so that he could give his opinions and his suggestions instead for a change.
As Lauren and Sarajane re-filmed our singer (Lewis), Lee has managed to incorporate some of his original footage of his singer into our video. Even though he has the words in his hand, i think the way the footage has been editied and where it is also not a too long clip works really well with our video. Even though Aaron (Lee's singer) hasn't been used greatly i feel that by having both Lewis and Aaron in the video it creates differentiation as it is an outtake of Aaron checking out a girl walking past where as Lewis is singing and not taking any notice of what could be going on around him, as this is not seen on the video.
Lee has also included a lot of split screening which he has now taught me how to do. It is of charlotte and steven, but one from the view point of charllotte which has been mixed and the other from the view point oof steven which has been mixed. This has been done in two different parts of the screen.
As i have not really done any of the editing my ideas have been quite useful as it means that whilst helping Lee with editing, i am also learning how to edit as well by watching him. My ideas have been to crop things a bit more and then to contrast with a different shot and with something on a diagonal angle. This could also give the meaning of the song in some parts, or at leas tthe way in which we interpreted it.

Editing...
We have editied about 18 seconds of our music video so far. We have found this quite difficult as a lot of the computers have been freezing when the video has been playing therefore to try and get the lip syncing sorted is hard. However we have tried edit different parts together and to leave the lip syncing until the computers are fixed. We have used many different effects such as: Cropping, moving the images so that they are on a diagonal angle. What has been edited so far i think is really good as it all flows together, it goes with our target audience and it also fits to the beats of the music. However i think there are also a fe wthings that could be improved on such as: Lewis singing as we could get lots of different angles of him, which could then help the video as we could have jump cuts of of images with lewis singing in between so each time you saw it would be of a different angle.
Overall so far i think our idea has come together, rather than how we thought it would turn out in the beginning. We have developed our ideas, which means that our original is not the same, it has been completely changed. But i feels this works and prefer this idea to the original.

Filming for new music video
So far for the filming we have filmed Charlotte and Lee getting up showing an alarm going off and how charlotte gets up as she is on time but lee rolls over and goes back to sleep showing how he misses her when they are supposed to meet up. This i feel has really helped as we have filmed it so that we could possibly use split screen for this part of the music video or possibly even other effects such as: cropping it to put it with other clips such as showing the alarm clock going off.
Editing...
So far Lee and I have done all the editing. We have managed to put the music into Final Cut and have now started to edit our clips. We have changed the angles so that they are diagonal and have dropped some of the clips as well. I felt that this was a good idea as it makes the clips more interesting and helps to give us new ideas for the new clips which we will be adding in.
I am happy with the editing so far as even though i am not sure what i am doing on Final Cut i have been watching other people and picking things up slowly so that i can now start to edit myself as well. As i haven't been editing i have been given my ideas and opinions on how i think it looks so far and whether anything could be improved on.

Filming...
I think now we have finsiehd filming as Lauren and Sarajane have filmed Lewis singing, over two days as they filmed in two different locations. Other things can be filmed but at the moment they are not definately needed. As we have been editing we have also realised that somethings can be re-shot such as: the smiley faces against the bin as they need more mise-en-scene. Also therefore this could be a long shot showing the surroundings.

Filming and Editing so far...
We have nearly finsihed filming as there are a couple of things that we could film in order to make our music video better, such as filming a group of people walking in a place like sutton high street and then editing it so that it becomes fast, but however this is similar to the original video. I like the footage we have so far, however i feel that a couple of things could be re-shot like Lee and Charlotte walking down the road together as i feel that this could have been filmed with a better angle and made slightly more interesting. If we did film anything else it wouldn't take that long as we know what we want to do and how we want it to look like.
What i don't like about the music video is that at the moment it seems to look quite boring, however this could change when we start to edit and put everything we have together.
After we had imported everything we weren't sure on how to edit it as we didn't have the track and also as we needed to go through all our footage in order to decide what we liked and din't like. In the end we mostly agreed on what we liked such as there was a shot of a smily faced model against a silver bin looking happy. We liked it as it made a change to what we had got in the beginning and as also as we had changed our idea, it fitted in with that to.
We have also added the track to it now which means we can start to edit it to the beat of the music. By having the music it means that we can also see what fits well and what doesn't and how we could possibly make it more intersting by using the effects on 'Final Cut'.
We started to put things on the time line such as clipsthat we thought we could edit without the music and we also played around with these such as we managed to change the a clip so that it was seen diagonally and we also managed to crop this picture so that there was a greater focus on the smiley faced model. We also editied things so that a clip could be cut in different places so that when it was played it jumped between all the differnt shots quickly.
Overall i think that the music video has come together as the project has progressed. I felt that at the beginning of this it was very slow moving and that the song was not motivating us as we found it hard to come up with different ideas as we were trying not to copy the original video. I think however that once we have started to eidt and we are seeing that it will look good then we might feel different about it. I think the work we have done though is up to the same standard as everyone. Most of our effects will most probably come from the editing.

Clothing
The two main characters will need to be different as only one of them will be seen in flashbacks.
Lee- needs to have brightish clothing so that it will show up in the falshback
Charlotte- will need to have darkish clothing as she is grieving the death of her boyfriend, but will need bright clothing for the present day shots, as her life is turning out ok.

What we still need to do!!
As some of the computer were being slow today we decided that we were going to sit down as a group and talk about what we still need to such as the things we need to be re-filmed. We decided that we needed to film Lewis in a different location and from a variety of different angles and shot typoes as most of them seem to be close ups, also so that we include more of this footage into our music video. We also thought about re-filming lewis as we have uised most of our original footage but Lee also said that he wanted to film a dancer and to aslo film some more of the smiley faced models. As we had changed our idea half through we need to finish the storyboards, so to break this down we each took on a separate role, rather than leaving it all down to one person.
shooting schedule for new ideas
New version storyboards 1-5
Storyboards
For our storyboards we found it hard to come up with different ideas and we think that these ideas should be portrayed. We also found it hard to draw out how we wanted the shot to look as we kept changing our ideas. In the end we decided to draw what we wanted to see when we saw the shot and whether would look effective for the audience or if we could make it more effective by editing when we had actually filmed the shot. Most of our shots at the moment are long shots, so therefore we need to change some of these to close up, extreme close-up etc. So far our storyboards fit in with the lyrics of the song rather than what we wanted the video to be like.
What I would like to use
In this music video i would like to use a variety of different shots such as: extreme close up, close up, mid shot and establishing shot.
I would like to use close up and extreme close ups so we can focus on the actor's facial expressions to make more of a connection with them.
Midshots to show more body language, something which is often seen in Music videos.
Establishing shots are used to show the surroundings of characters, usually seen in rock videos, which is a small part of Hold On.
Who is in our video?
With our original idea none of us wanted to be in it,so we thought that we could get other people to be in it for us. However this became quite difficult as not many people wanted to do it either and then we had the problem of all us being free at the same time.
As the idea has now changed we have decided that Lee is going to be in the video, as it means that we can film during media lessons and we all tend to have be free at a similar time.
Changed storyboards
As a group we found the song we had chosen was difficult to follow the storyboards as we had interpreted the song with a narrative. We have now decided to change this and include some different effects to make the video more exciting. We have done this by using different effects such as split screening, different colours such as black and white, with the other half of the screen in colour. We have also changed the type of shots we are going to use as we are now using more close ups and extreme close ups rather than all the long shots we had before.

Music Video
As we have revisited our music video and watched them back i feel that mine does give any meaning and doesn't really fit with the conventions of a music video. So i researched some songs that had similar lyrics or songs that could have a similar meaning for example: Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan 'Especially for you'. Even though this video is slightly cheesy due to the time it was made, i felt that it had a similar meaning to our song 'Hold On'.
I thought that I could use the similar storyline of them missing each other and finally. With this i thought for editing techniques we could use split screening, dissolve effects etc. I just need to complete the storyboards so that it is clear what i want to acheive.

Hifana- Bunseye Cooking
This video used different shots, but again used jump cuts. This music video was surreal and very repetitive, but also used tracking.
I thought that this video was low budget as it is simple, uses bright effects, the editing sets music, funny, variety of shots, costumes are simple, cheap props, some animation, artificial lighting- already there from kitchen, simple technology, 2 locations and 2 characters.

Tunng-Jenny Again
This music video has an outdoor setting -location and mise-en-scene. It uses a mixture of different shots such as close-up as you never see the whole of the person. As the seeting is outdoors it uses natural lighting. Some parts of the video are unfocused which gets the audience to think and it made me want to carry on watching to find out what hapened, I felt that this particular video followed a narative for example:suicide. Also different from the other video is that as this s a slow song the cuts didn't go with the beat and he shots were related to the lyrics.
The message behind this video could be that nature vs rubbish as in one part of the video you see what looks like rubbish in amongst thegreen grass and nature.

Music Video-Trencher
This msuic video shows jump cuts, with the same mise-en-scene throughout apart from the beginning. The is only one person on set. Some of their cuts, cut to the beat of the music such as when the girls hair is moving. The person is always right to the frame, not to the centre.
All of the video makes sense, with the backwards and forwards and the juxtaposition.
The costume the young girl is wearing in the video is a red and white checked dress which is a typical school out fit for a primary school girl.

Demogrpahic
Before planning what we wanted our audience to get from the music video, we needed to know who our demographic was. We researched into the genre of Grime/Hip Hop and found that it was mainly aimed at teenagers of about 16 -17 years +. I feel that our audience is a niche market as it is very small and will not range out towards 20+ year olds due to the style of the music. Therefore i think that this type of music is unique to every individual.

Jamiroquai video
Jamiroquai's video -'Virtual Insanity' is of acid/jazz genre. It has typical conventions as looped beats are present, it combines elements of jazz, funk and hip-hop. There are also some props, lighting and costume.
In some parts of the song what the lyric say, actually happens in the video for example: when it says crazy world- the camera moves around in a circle and, it says i can see- points to his eyes.
From watching this video I found out a lot, how things can be made better when you come to edit. I also found out that in the video they used a basic room, added things to it and then created the effect throuhg the editing they used. I thought that this video was entertaining and challenging to its audience.

Genre
Grime is an urban style of music that is highly influenced by UK Garage and British Hip Hop.
Here is an example of an artist of the grime/hip hop genre- Dizzee Rascal-Dance With me
From listening to this type of music i would expect to see in the video an urban setting, with a lot of outdoor and close up shots. I also expect to see the artist to be wearing hoodies and jeans, a typical stereotype of someone in the Grime/ HipHop Genre of music.

Music Video Questionaire
As part of this project I needed to carry out research on the types of music videos different age groups liked to watch, whether they watched them for entertainment purposes or if the video helps them in liking the song. It also shows what people expect from music videos such as dancers, outfits, setting etc and also their favourite genre.
From the research i carried out on the questionaire I can conclude that 16-24 year old enjoy listening to RnB with favourite artists such as Ne-Yo and N-Dubs. Most of the people i asked said that they are not bothered about music videos being used for entertainment purposes, however only one person said no and only four said they were. I also found that most people (7/10) liked to watch the video as it helped them to like the song but they do prefer to listen to the music.

Music Video
For this project on music videos, the song we have chosen to look at is 'Hold On' by Lazee ft Neverstore. We have interpreted the lyrics as a love song and have therefore decided for our music video to follow a love narrative. Whilst doing the storyboards for the music video, we were trying to show something different in each line, however this became quite difficult as some of the lines repeat themselves and are also sung quickly, therefore not giving enough time to show another clip during in the time given.
I have found this song difficult to come up with different ideas without repeating what we already had as the song is quite repetitive throughout. It has also been difficult as we have all had different ideas and have been trying to make them fit into our idea of a love narrative.
However once we had thought of ideas for certain parts of the song, we then came up with other ideas for different sections.

Analysis of Lyrics
The song tells us how we should hold on to the ones we love and care for, and how when the people we love die or move on , how we find it hard to overcome the difficulties faced with this.
The songs lyrics are pronounced in urban slang giving you an idea of what genre it is and makes it more identifiable, giving a target audience of teenagers.
I have annotated these to give an idea of what we want to show our targeted audience and to give a guidance of what we to achieve.

Godwins theory of Illustration, Disjuncti ad Amplification
Illustartion- visual narrative tells the story of the lyrics (literal)
Amplification- visual narrative does not contradict the lyrics, but creates new levels of meaning (metaphorical). The theme of the lyrics is present in the visuals.
Disjuncture- visual narrative goes against or does not match the lyrics.
Here is an example if disjuncture:

Disjuncture- visual narrative goes against or does not match the lyrics.

Spatial-Space
This is to do with space such as the setting and the location of filming
Relation between and manipulation of different points through simularity, difference and development.
Continuity editing produces 'analytical' space via an establishing shot, followed by a mid shot which is a smaller shot.
'Kuleshov effect' there is no establishing shot therefore only parts of the shot are seen.
Temporal- Time
This is to do with the time of the action and adds to the plots story time-order, duration and frequency.
Order of presentation of events can be manipulated- so changes story and plot relations which interrupt 'temporal order'.
E.G. flashbacks increase story knowledge and flash forwards creating enigma.
Duration- of story events within the plot can be altered via use of ellipsis. E.G. 'punctuation' shot change e.g. dissolve.
Graphic-
Draws upon 'pictorial qualities' found within mise-en-scene. E.G. patterns of light and dark, fine and sharpe, volume and depth etc...
Graphic continuity
'centre of interest throughout cuts, maintaining lighting level, avoiding strong colour clashes'.
Graphic discontinuity-
plays with juxtaposition of placement of focus figures, contrasts with colour and footage types and movement and stillness.
Rhythmic-
make it flow for a narrative by making sure each clip is the same duration.
Music video-keep to beat of music, make dips longer and shorter.
